Art and Max by David Weisner – The illustrations in this book are packed with color, oozing with detail, and totally surprising in a humorous story about art, creativity and friendship.
Both my son and daughter were captivated by the images. Art is the mature artist while Max is an eager beginner. Max’s enthusiasm reminds me of my daughter’s when ever she gets the opportunity to paint. Like Max, she’s too excited to wait for instruction and dives right in. And while she makes a mess in the process, her creations show true vision that I’ve learned to respect. Artistic aspirations or not, young readers will enjoy the story. More about the book here.
